'Horomatangi'
This work takes direction from the pūrākau of Horomatangi, a taniwha, placed by Tūwharetoa ancestor Tia, to protect the mana of Te Kōpua Kānapanapa o Taupō Nui-a-Tia

Through these works I seek to capture the cadence and pace of te taiao that we are detached from in our day to day lives in the modern world. It is at this pace that we begin to attune to the tohu around us, a pace that is reflected in these same pūrākau, the narratives of place.
